HKUMed has received a HK$30-million donation from Mr. Li Ka-shing to enhance its use of AI in medical teaching. Which matched by an additional HK$30 million by HKUMed to develop AI medical education. HKUMed is committed to enhancing its digital learning capacity to train tomorrow's healthcare professionals and prepare them to meet society's healthcare needs.

GenAI literacy series: How best to use Generative AI to enhance your learning effectiveness

You probably would all have heard about Generative AI (GenAI) and many of you may already be using it in your everyday learning. However, there may well be concepts and application techniques of this technology that you are yet to master in order to fully utilize this powerful tool.

To help you gain a more in-depth understanding of what GenAI is as well as how best to use it in your learning and study, we have developed a series of short videos which will be available on Moodle soon.

The first video, 'Introduction to large language models and how GenAI can help students learn and study', is now available for viewing. Subsequent modules will be released throughout the academic year and will cover aspects of the applications of GenAI in healthcare practice, basic and clinical research, the related ethical and professional aspects of GenAI.

We have also developed a set of guidelines on the use of GenAI in teaching and learning specially for HKUMed, which is enclosed here for your reference. More information on the University's course on AI literacy for education can be accessed here.
